Our Exhibition Rooms

The Entrance Room
Provides an exhibition explaining the meaning of the Cinque Ports and shipbuilding at Small Hythe.
Maps and models of the area are on display as is a collection of the Town’s standard weights and measures
   
The Tapestry Room
14 colourful panels depict the history of the town from Roman times made by the children of Tenterden in 1974. Also featured are exhibits from the Borough police force, the fire brigade, the local pharmacy and Victoriana
   
The 20th Century Room
Look back at how Tenterden and district was in the 20th Century. The 1960's cameo home stimulates memories and nostalgia
   
The Agriculture Room
Here is a 19th century hop press. Hop growing, and harvesting is illustrated.  Agricultural equipment and tools and implements from local crafts and industries are also on display.

   

The Buildings Room
Devoted to the buildings in the area with examples of mathematical tiles and a crown post is on view
The story of the Georgian theatre in the town is featured alongside many items from the local pubs and breweries
